According to Al-Jazeera, many countries are facing a rise in fuel prices largely brought on by tight supply and surging demand. The average price of gasoline around the world is $1.2 per litre. As of September 2021, Hong Kong has the most expensive petrol in the world at $2.56 per litre.

According to data from The Cable, here is what a litre of petrol costs in some countries that are members of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

1. Iran – ₦24.69

2. Angola – ₦112.78

3. Algeria – ₦136.25

4. Kuwait – ₦142.83

5. Nigeria – ₦165.89

6. Iraq – ₦211.58

7. Saudi Arabia – ₦255.62

8. United Arab Emirates – ₦301.32

9. Congo – ₦409.17

10. Gabon – ₦428.10
