Tony Chike Iwobi, simply known as Toni Iwobi, is a 67-year-old Italian politician currently serving as an Italian senator since 2018 under the Lega Nord political party.
Originally from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria, Chike was born and raised in Gusau, Zamfara State, Nigeria. After bagging a degree in Economics from the Western Pacific University, Manchester, England, he moved to Italy where he studied accounting and computer science. A supporter of federalism, which he was accustomed to from Nigeria, Chike later joined Italian politics, belonging to the Lega Nord political party, whose new immigration policy which had a hard objectivity against illegal immigration he drafted in 2014. Twenty eight years ago, he won election as the municipal councillor for the party in Spirano, holding the position til 2014. However, he also served as assessor with responsibility for social services.
