The Nigerian Airforce not long along acquired some super Tucano for the fight against terrorism, no doubt the super Tucano are wonderful war machines but in this article, I will be showing you the A-10 Thunderbolt regarded as the beast of the air.

The A-10 Thunderbolt is a twin-turbofan single-seat, subsonic attack aircraft straight-wing developed for United States Air by the Fairchild Republic.

The A-10 was developed in 1972 mainly for the attack and close air support. In this article, I will be showing you why the NAF should consider buying the A-10 Thunderbolt to counter-terrorism.

The A-10 is the most effective jet ever produced for ground attacks. The A-10 can also be used as a “Forward air controller” by directing other aircraft in attacks.

-The A-10 has a modern speed of 560km/h making it a better performer for ground attacks than fast fighter jets which have trouble locating and targeting small objects.

– The most important feature of the A-10 is its hard shell body. The A-10 airframe was designed with titanium which enables the aircraft to absorb damage and continue performing its roles.

-The A-10 also has low-wing maneuverability, this means that it can land and take off at a short runway making the A-10 a rugged air machine.

Another amazing feature of the jet is that, if hit by an enemy missile, it is designed to return by living on one engine, one elevator, half tail, and half wing missing.

With the A-10 in the Nigerian Airforce arsenal, no doubt the terrorist could be put in their place..….See More
