It is often said that the future is uncertain, hence nobody knows what tomorrow would be like. There have been stories of people who have moved from grass to grace, as people say. Everyone has a story to tell, especially when things get better
For Barcelona and Super Falcons forward, Asisat Lamina Oshoala, she surely understands what it means to move from a state of want to a state of having plenty
She started on the streets of Lagos. She started playing for FC Robo of Lagos at a young age, then she moved to Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt
She was selected to play at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and there, she became a star. Oshoala’s pace and class was above all as she scored 7 goals and was also awarded the player of the tournament. Though Nigeria lost the final to Germany in extra time, she won the golden boot and most valuable player award
Same year, she was second top scorer at the African Women’s Cup of Nations and also won the tournament with Nigeria
She also became the first person to win the BBC World Women’s Footballer of the Year. She has gone ahead to play for Liverpool and Arsenal and then, Dalian Quanjin in China before her move to Barcelona
These her throwback pictures show how things can change within a short time
