The founder of iwo(Adekola telu) left ile -life with crown and that is why Iwo has not been left out among one of original oba’s in Yoruba land. When adekola telu wished to leave ile- ife,his Oracle told him not to settle to anywhere until found a place where parrot lives in abundance .In nut shell he could not reach where the parrot lives before he died. But journey with his incoming generation as he had been told not to settle to anywhere until he found parrots abode .Several of his children and great grand children embarked on the journey until the parrot abode being finally found and the place is being referred to as Iwo(ile-odidere).
As I earlier said that uncountable children of adekola had died which indicated that several oba’s and Bale’s have gone before Iwo could be located. The first monarch(oluwo of iwo )being crowned was named Parin olumade. Parin olumade begot three son’s. Two of which were from the same mother namely (Tadese and oyedele) while the third one belong to another mother named (Layilumi).They were arranged in elderly order.
History had it after the death of oba parin,oyedele was selected by Oracle to ascend the throne of his father.For your information,tadese was older than oyedele but was not chosen by Oracle
History had it oyedele died suddenly on his preparedness to become king ,oyedele died And the last born who happened to be layilumi became king .After which the oyedele family rose up war against oba layilumi with hope he was the one killed their son. Afterwards issue was resolved and the both parties shealth their sword and allowed peace to reign.However, not known that the family of oyedele still had grumbled against oba layilumi (Oluwo of Iwo) .One day Oluwo was invited by tadese family in order to show everybody that peace was reigned between them .
Unfortunately, a pitch or hole was digged and covered with a mat and a chair was put on it to be seat by king. Fortunately when oba layilumi was coming ,he took Hus dog along .It was his first dog stepped into the spread mat and fell into it.Had been it was oba layilumi fell into victims ,their plan was to cover it with sand or killed him. With this reason the whole family of tadese and oyedele have been barred from ascending the throne until1992 when history re-,write itself .
Oba olayilumi begot three son namely :Adegunodo,gbase and alausa.Three of which became king and that was why ruling house of Iwo were grouped into three .But When Tadese who has been denied kingship wanted to become king of Iwo.History had it that (Ande )rulling house was carved out from alausa ruling house due to their over long stay in power for almost 700 years.
