Captain J.O. Abalaka (N/15198), an Army officer, has regained his freedom after he reportedly successfully disarmed a member of the kidnap gang that abducted him in Kogi State.

According to SaharaReporters, it was learnt that Abalaka was abducted last week along Ekpoma/Okene/Lokoja Road.

The incident reportedly occurred while Abalaka was reporting to his new unit at the operational headquarters of the Maiduguri Command in Borno State from 29 Battalion, Port Harcourt.

While driving in his Toyota Corolla with registration number LSR 22 AJ along with his dog, the gunmen intercepted and abducted him along the road, a military signal obtained by SaharaReporters revealed.

Other travellers were also abducted by the gunmen.

Displaying rare boldness and bravery, the signal revealed that the Army captain attacked the gang of kidnappers and disarmed one of them who had an AK-47.
