Kebbi Central senator Adamu Aliero has blamed the government’s protracted indifference for the ongoing Fulani herdsmen crisis. According to Aliero, who spoke with Arise News, the Fulani community feels unfairly marginalized since they are unable to obtain health care, education, and other necessities,  that the Fulani’s actions are wrong but argued that they have been pushed to the wall by circumstances.

Aliero cited instances of Fulani people being victims of cattle rustling, kidnapping, and murder, with no recourse to justice. He believes that addressing the root causes of their grievances is essential to resolving the crisis.

In his words;

The Fulanis have been neglected for quite a long time, Nobody cares to provide education for the Fulanis, Nobody cares to provide Health services. All what the Government is doing, the Fulani man is not involved and once they committed offence, they go to Court, they are charged exorbitantly and it’s this injustice that has made the Fulani to act in the way they’re doing now.

Certainly, It’s wrong but it’s the prolonged neglect by the Government. They’ve been pushed to the Wall to the Extent that their Animals have been stolen. At times, Children are killed, Mothers and Fathers Killed and they’re left with nothing…..Fínd Óut Móre
