The Lagos State Police Command has identified the police officer seen in a viral video strangling an Uber driver on a highway. The officer serves in the Mosafejo Division, according to the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.

The police are seeking the testimony of the Uber driver to take further action. However, Hundeyin also criticized both the driver and the policeman for their reckless behavior, stating that the driver should not have “abducted” the officer despite the officer’s dangerous attempt to stop him.

The incident has sparked an investigation, with the Nigeria Police Force’s Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, calling for a probe into the viral video. The video shows the police officer holding the driver’s neck while a lady in the car screams for help.

The incident has raised concerns about police brutality and the need for greater accountability and restraint among law enforcement officers. The outcome of the investigation and any subsequent actions taken by the police command will be closely watched…..Seé Móre
