Jacinta Nzilani Kilonzo revealed that her attraction to women begun when she was 16 years old. She shot to spotlight when she joined gays and lesbians during a ruling on whether homosexuality would be descriminalise. She was forced by her parents to get married in 1983 when she was 18 years old.

She said there was wrangle in marriage because she did not want to sleep with her husband. After her husband death in 2008, she met female pastor whom she was attracted to. She said she is the man in the relationship and her wife is understanding, caring and loving. She usually defend herself saying God love all people equally.
She started the church in Nairobi for lesbians and gays only where she said they worship happily. She advised Kenyans to accept lesbians and gays in their communities. According to her, her three gown children support her new marriage and respect her wife.
