Pascual Pinon was a two-headed Mexican Man who was a performer with the Sells-Floto Circus in the early 1900s. He was born in Mexico and raised in the United States. Pinon was born with a large benign tumor on the top of his head, which was removed at birth.
It is possible for a person to have two heads; however, unlike a condition known as craniopagus parasiticus, which is a form of conjoined twins in which one head is placed upside-down on top of the other, Pinon’s second head was oriented upright, just like his actual head.
Pinon suffered from a severe headache and lost his second head as a result. Following an examination, doctors determined that his second head needed to be removed in order to save his life.
Despite being numbed by novocain, the two-headed man remained conscious throughout the procedure. Mr Pinon was fortunate in that he did not suffer any brain damage as a result of the tumor being removed from his brain.
